Starting at a new school naturally comes with many questions. We are here to make things easier! Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions to help ensure a smooth and stress-free start at DSP |
All school books must be ordered through the DSP Online Schulshop: https://shop.dspretoria.co.za/
Many of our German books are imported from Germany and can take some time to arrive in South Africa.
We therefore strongly recommend ordering these books early to avoid delays at the start of the school year.
South African publishers close over December. We therefore, suggest to place your order for the South African books quite early, too.
You have two options:
The easy option: Order the complete stationery bundle online. We prepare everything for you and let you know when it is ready for collection.
The in-store option: You are also welcome to purchase the individual stationery items directly from the Schulshop.
Please keep in mind that the Schulshop can become very busy, especially at the beginning of the school year, so purchasing stationery in-store may involve some waiting time.
Yes. Wherever possible, we aim to offer our DSP community prices that are the same as or more competitive than other retail outlets.
No. You can choose what works best for you.
Order & pay online:
This is the most convenient option. We prepare your order and email you as soon as it is ready for collection.
Order online & pay at the Schulshop:

DSP families can buy and sell second-hand school books within our school community.
Available second-hand books can also be listed online, making it easier to check whether a pre-loved copy is available before purchasing a new one.
Donated second-hand school clothing is also available directly at the Schulshop.
It’s an affordable and sustainable way to find good-quality school clothing.
Yes. We have dedicated WhatsApp groups where DSP parents can offer or look for second-hand school books and school clothing.
It is a useful way for new families to connect with the existing DSP community and find items that other families no longer need.
The DSP Schulshop is your central point for:
School books · Stationery · School clothing · Second-hand clothing · School essentials
For books and stationery, we recommend ordering online wherever possible. It saves time and allows our team to prepare everything before you arrive.
In the first week of school a photo is taken which is then printed on the learner's ID.
